I finally watched The Happening the other day.
It honestly was not as bad as people made it out to be.
Yes the acting was kind of weird and seemed forced and awkward in places but it still had the same style that M. Night Shyamalan's movies have had in the past.
It was an interesting story line, plants polluting the air and killing off people.
The creepiest part of the movie was when the old lady starts acting really weird. Starting with the scene where they are in the bedroom at night and he hears the floor squeak, opens the door and sees the woman standing there. Creeper!
It wasn't as jumpy as I'd hoped but it was still an okay movie.
I give it a C.

Post 10: Upcoming Movies
Since I'm sick and have quite a lot of free time I decided to visit http://www.imdb.com/ and check out the up and coming movies I am excited to see (click on movie title to watch trailer).

I love Michael Cera. I think he's adorable, especially in Juno. If I were in High School I would totally date him!
I love Anne Hathaway. I saw her in The Princess Diaries 1 & 2 and in The Devil Wears Prada and thought she was amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing her in a more serious role.
- Eagle Eye (PG-13)
I still remember Shia LeBeouf as the annoying little brother in Even Stevens. Now after seeing him emerge from the annoying little kid to the handsome thrill seeking young man, it's quite incredible. Let's just hope he stays out of Walgreens for the time being.

I love scary movies and this one looks amazing. I loved watching 28 Weeks Later and this one looks kinda similar. I also saw Jennifer Carpenter in The Exorcism of Emily Rose and thought she was excellent!

Post 9: Top 5 Best Kids Movies
1. Finding Nemo (2003)
This movie is awesome, mostly because it deals with Australia and I have a blood connection with Australia. This is the kind of movie that is great for kids but it's not too corny for adults.
2. Open Season (2006)
Hilarious.
3. Toy Story 1 & 2 (1995, 1999)
These were the movies that started the computer animated movies. These are classics they will never get old.
4. Shrek (2001)
Another good movie that has both child and adult humour but the adult humour is hidden well enough to where kids don't even know it's funny.
5. Willa Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)
A classic. I saw the remake with Johnny Depp and was freaked out (he reminded me too much of Michael Jackson). I'll stick with this version.

Post 8: Top 5 Teen Movies
1. Mean Girls (2004)
Hilarious and painfully true. I went to High School with a Regina George (quite a few actually).
2. John Tucker Must Die (2006)
Funny movie with a cute guy who rarely wears a shirt. Another good adaptation of High School (in a Hollywood kind of way).
3. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
Oh Heath Ledger I miss you! This was his breakout role and he was amazing in it. I could watch this movie over and over again.
4. Dead Poets Society (1989)
"Carpe diem!" I haven't seen this movie in a while but I remember loving it.
5. Bring It On (2000)
Oh boy, I have a love/hate relationship with this movie. I love this movie because it's corny and funny but I hate it because it's corny and funny. A movie you can watch if you really need something to do to waste time.

Post 7: Top 5 Best Coming of Age Movies
1. Now and Then (1995)
A girl version of Stand by Me, in a way. Excellent coming of age story. Who can't relate to at least one of the girls?
2. Stand by Me (1986)
Four boys from four different sides of the tracks share one amazing trip together and find out who they really are. Touching.
3. My Girl (1991)

Post 6: Top 5 Best Action Movies
1. Shooter (2007)
Oh Marky Mark. So hot and he takes off his shirt. This movie is so awesome it made me want to go to Sniper School. I love action movies and I love Mark Wahlberg. Great combo!
2. The Island (2005)
Not many people liked this movie but I loved it. It answers the question (in a far-out kind of way) of "what if we could really clone humans?" The chase scene with the train axels falling on to the road and the cars blowing up was amazing. Plus that Cadillac, OMG! Such a sweet car!
3. 300 (2006)
Gerard Butler, hot shirtless guys, fight scenes and history all rolled in to one makes for one helluva movie! A little weird and far fetched in places but I think that was the point.
4. The Italian Job (2003)
Again Mark Wahlberg. Mmmmm. And the Mini chase scene was kick-butt! I want to race a Mini so bad!
5. Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
The relationship Jolie and Pitt have in this movie is awesome. I love how they hate each other so much yet love each other so much. For some reason the mean/hate you but I love you/need you relationship is sexy to me. Awesome.

Post 5: Top 5 Best Horror/Thriller Movies
1. The Strangers (2008)
This movie scared the scheiße outta me! I hate hate hate it when people wear masks. OMG it creeps me out! Plus the fact that she's alone in the middle of nowhere, competely helpless. My worst nightmare!
2. The Hitcher (2007)
This movie is scary in that it could really happen and that's what is so scary about it. It's preventable, yes but it could still (and probably has) happen. The fact that there are creepy guys out there like that gives me the heeby-jeebies. The scene with the trucks and the guy getting torn apart was disgustingly amazing! I cringe and laugh at the same time.
3. Red Eye (2005)
Another realistically scary movie. I hate airplanes and creepy guys so this movie was a one-two punch for me.
4. 30 Days of Night (2007)
I'm terrified of the dark and isolation. This movie was another one-two punch for me. Plus it was fantastically gory. The scene where the girl is begging and says "Please God..." and the vampire dude looks up at the sky and says "no god"...wow, creepalicious! Gave me chills.
5. The Skeleton Key (2005)
Not really all that scary but it was still a little creepy. Creepy religions like that freak me out.
